W208 Supercharge Lack / engine upgrade swap
So I have my dream car which is the 2002 CLK55 AMG. I absolutely love this car, as with all things when you finally get what you want you either want something else or you want to make it better.
With that being said the lack of a blower is a real bummer for me. Then seeing that they are 10000 is an even bigger bummer
But lets say one day I get high in miles and I decide to upgrade the engine to either a m113 w/ the supercharger like something out of the sl55k amg. or the G wagon and so we all know the cars and engines. or i could even just step up to one of the newer engines w the blower.
I say this because buying one of these engines is cheaper than the 10000 and you get an engine w/ the blower installed
Any thoughts on this? Do you think stock is good or it may be something to look at?
Let me know what you think and what some of you may have done....

Your in the right place for supercharger guru's on these cars.
Study some posts by Blackbenz, or betreza any you will find some notes.
I dwelled on the supercharger as well but a daily driver on morroso octane boost is not economical. LOL
The engine upgrade might be feasible but stock wiring might be improvised as the controls are different.
Curious as well, PS: ERIE, ever been to Goofy's pub
Cheers, Gator

If your controls and wiring are different, you can bet the computer will require some tuning as well.
I am from Erie and go back to visit relatives once in a while. my cousin's dragged me in to Goofy's and there were a lot of swingin partyin gals in there. It was on the east side and might be gone.
There used to be all cultures of restaurant from Greek, Italian, and general commercial darden selections. I suppose the economy has closed many of the special mom and pop joints as well.
The last time I was there the casino's were booming. I enjoy visiting but not really a gambler, seldom pick up a lotto ticket.
Erie is divided by ES and WS as most locals will explain.
I like it there, The winds blowing in off the lake in the winter can be rough though.
All the Best, Gator

I saw a w208 on ebay a couple months back with a w211 e55 swap. I'd love to know how much that would cost. I've seen the engines priced from $4500-$6500.
