car insurance cost vs porsche
i know this is random, but i was just reviewing my auto insurance coverage and can you believe my 2003 porsche C4S is 50% more per year than my 2006 CLK55 cab(and 2005 S600)?
while i realize that the MB is newer, growing up i was always told that sports cars were more expensive, yada yada.
anyways, just curious what others' experiences have been.

I got quotes on insurance for both a CLK350 and a CLK550. I got the quotes through Leland-West who brokered the insurance on my 993's. The 350 was $519/yr at 3k miles and 300/500k, 100k and the rest of the usual numbers. The 550 was $538/yr. I have a pair of 993's insured - 1995 C4Cab and a 1996 C2Cab at an AGV of $25k on the 95 and $27500 on the 96 and I pay $593/yr. The underwriter is American Modern Home Insurance Company out of Cincinnati. I will be interested to see what other companies people use for their rides. We have Allstate for our Home owners and daily driver coverage so I need to contact my agent to see their rate. In order to use Leland-West you have to be a PCA member for the p-car coverage.

They do offer an unlimited mileage plan. No idea of cost though. There is a quote generator on their home page. They are easy to work with in my experience.
