Selling CLK55 in UK
Im selling my CLK55 , a it sad to do it, but now Summer is here, and I have a SL for the summer, with a replacement SL55 later in the year. My wife wont let me keep a CLK55 and a SL55 :-(
Its June 2000 (W plate), so it has Mercedes warranty until June 2003
Its Designo Varicolor 1 (blue/green) with an all anthracite interior.
Its a UK supplied car with 11500 miles and all the options and a few extra that have been added afterwards ..
COMAND, TV, Voice Recognition, Nokia 6210 integrated phone, Bose, CD changer, Parktronic, Xenon, Sunroof, Rear blind, extra dead-locks on the boot, extra AMG wood around the interior door pulls and the upper-control-panel (with sunroof controls in it), fire-extinguisher, heated seats [and probably some stuff I forgot]
Mercedes benz website shows two similar age cars, without most of the options such as COMAND. The one that has done 16k miles is 44k pounds, the one that has done 21k miles is 42k pounds

I guess i'll put it in the Sunday times at about what I hoped for from a dealer !
In case anyone in the UK is interested, when I was phoning around the dealers to get a good price, Woking Motors in Surrey offered to sell it on sale-or-return. The dealer said they had another CLK55 on same terms.
I was a bit skeptical, but they called me back last week and said "we sold the other one, and probably have a buyer for yours since we had lots of interest in the one we sold" - anyway they sold it, I got £40k which is what I had expected to get for it privately, and someone got a very nice car for reasonable money with a MB Signature warranty on it.
In terms of comparison to anyone else selling their CLKs in the UK, the car cost me around £70k as it was a special colour and had all the options and more such as TV, voice recognition, extra AMG wood etc. MB then dropped the list price by around 6-8k and threw in Comand/Xenon and a few others two days later :-(, so really it was a 60k car.
So, assuming the car was 2 days newer, the depreciation would about 33% which is good .. Our ML430 lost about 50% in two years [but there was that big MB price drop whilst we owned it]

Seems no-one wants to part with their money these days!
