My wifes' top down function only works if there is money involved and lots of it. LOL
Seriously the fob has to be right near to the sensor to operate, would be nice if you could be a foot away or something similar, also hard to work when in complete sun from outside althought the doors open without the fob being activated just have to have it in your pocket. So the car has a sort of brain.
Silver trim inside also.

When I brought car car home last week, that nite, me wife dropped her top, and bottoms...without the fob being anywhere near her.

147 were made for North America in 2007, there are many more in Europe where they also offered the coupe version. But you definitely won't see many on the road in the states. The interior trim is aluminum, not plastic, and it came standard. I have a CLK55 but my seat cooler also turns on automatically when I use the key fob to put the top down, its a standard thing. You can buy a chip for you key fob that lets you control the top from a distance with one click. It will also let you raise the speed limit for putting the top down.
My soft top is separating by the rear window like yall mentioned. Does anyone have any suggestions for fixing it before it gets worse?

Love your car's color...
You positive all the trim is aluminum?...mine seems all plastic. I gotta get burl though...or maybe try another wood veneer look via 3M Dinoc.

I take delivery of my CLK63 cabrio on friday, just gonna be a weekend cruiser. I have yet to see one in the wild, extremely rare in new england. I've only found one at a dealership within 150mi, all I see is the occasional 350. I was looking at an M3 and the bride said she hates BMW's. She's owned a Merc in the past so discovering the clk63 is a great compromise.
fuse is lit....

When I found the listing for the car I purchased I moved faster. The car is in New York now but will be garaged in RI shortly. New Englanders are coming out. I take delivery Saturday if not before.
Best of luck with your new acquisition.

I'll have to have a CLK63 Cabriolet owners GTG at me haus next spring then. Apparently there are enough in New England to do it !! VERY happy to hear of other owners nearby. 8-)
If your not on the AMG Performance Lounge website yet, get on...they have great giveaways, info and chat with participation and support from corporate AMG.
Yeah, if you see one for sale, grab it !! The prices are super attractive now and the car is worth every penny IMO.

I drove the car to Philadelphia then home to RI. What a machine!
As a newbie, I suppose I could gush for hours but those who have driven the CLK 63 surely understand. This automobile is an absolute pleasure to operate.
While driving along a parkway that paralleled the Hudson, I found myself stopped at a light with a long stretch of empty road in front of me. I smiled in contemplation then looked to my left; a BMW M6 pulled along side. We both had dark tinted glass so there was no exchange prior to the light change.
I changed the shift setting to sport mode and put my foot down when I heard the roar of the M's exhaust. That car is magnificent on many levels. I backed off the gas several seconds later and let him pass...message delivered. He sounded his horn in respect and took the next exit.
I didn't buy the car to drag race but this situation couldn't have been scripted any better. I had to represent...at least once. AMG built something very special.

I just had the best drive of my life yesterday, cripes....mid 50's, a long meandering drive to the end of cape cod and back to see a client...top down, radio blasting. The car is an absolute joy.
then I get on the highway, stroke the throttle past a couple of cars and move over into the travel lane and slow down to 70. and what the hell...there's some jackass coming after me in a gmc suv. cruise control is on...trying not to look in the rearview but now the guy is right behind me. well fine, you just sit there then...I don't give a shi...oh f*ck it
it's stunning how fast this car goes 70-100, how quickly vehicles disappear in the rearview. I put a good distance between us, put the cruise back on and he did not attempt to bridge the gap again.
And QUIET! I was amazed to be driving on the highway at 65, top down, windows up and be talking on my cellphone

Just bought an '07 Cab. last week. Love the car, but read about the headbolt/cam issues. Mine has 15k on it and is in near perfect condition. How common is the headbolt problem? Capri blue and biscuit int....super rare.

Congratulations on the car! I was under the impression from the AMG site that they brought 173 in 07 and 100 in 08. Their site is down this weekend, so can't look right now. I have an 07 black over light tan. If you are looking for a different option for dropping the top. This link might be what you are looking for. They get good reviews on the SLK site and says it fits CLKs http://www.motivemods.com/Mods4Cars-...4c-stlbmz1.htm
