Alternator or pulley

So a few weeks back my dash lights and everything were flickering crazy. I came on here and you guys helped me out with it being the voltage regulator. So I DIY'd that and everything was all good for a while ,until I noticed last night the dome lights & reverse lights fluctuate with the pulse of the idle. I have never changed any belts or pulleys in my car since buying it used. 05 W209 AMG. With 98k. What you guys think

Change out the serpentine belt it could be glazed or just worn out. If that does not work then the voltage regulator is faulty. Make sure all grounds are in place and tight.

So I read most of your post on here voltage cold 12.3-12.5 ; idle 14.0-14.4 ,driving is the same 14.0-14.4 normal hits a 14.1/.2. Yes I will stil get that very suttle light fluctuating with idle. Would a new VR be necessary even with good voltage. I've been riding with it in my glove box. I finally found a good Indy I think to take it to to get tested. I checked for what grounds I could see I'm not sure where they are all located.

Thanks again

With 98K, I take it that is miles, you are at a line where the alternator could be on its way out, if you have not changed out the regulator, then by all means try this first, using a Bosch unit only, remember an alt is the generating part and the reg is the distribution part, if you still have the org alt/reg unit then follow previous comments, brushes wear and in time when they shorten to a point arcing will occur across the comm segments inside of the alt and burn out the alt. Compare the old reg with the new one to see the difference in length. Good Luck

Did you actually change out the reg or just take it out and put it back in after stretching out the brush springs??? you state it is in your glove compartment, the new one? If so replace the reg with new one.
