Question.....
Hey guys, I was wondering could a 2003 C32 amg beat a w208 CLK55 amg? a 2001 or 2002 model? cause the specs say the CLK has a little less horsepower but alot more torque.....which would win on a highway roll or from a deadstart? thanks

It's really pretty close...
...when I went to the drag strip last year (before I replaced the ridiculously skinny stock rear 245's with 265's), I ran a traction-limited best of 13.4@106...there was a C32 there, and he ran a best of 13.6. Unfortunately, other than that, I really don't have any hands-on experience...
I know that both of these cars are quite capable of turning low 13's stock; only issue is off-the-line traction (which is why I switched to the 265's!! ). I would *suspect* that from a roll, the CLK would be a bit faster due to its 50 lb-ft torque advantage, but even if so, I doubt it would pull more than a few lengths...
Anyone got any rear-world experience?

Awfully darn close actually
During a "touring" event about 4 months ago, we had a short opportunity to test these two against each other. Everything was from highway speeds. Between 90 and 115 thge torque of the 55 helps it pull away (not by much, maybe a car length). But from 120 up to 145 they are pretty much even (door handle to door handle). We backed off around there because we needed to get off the interstate.
