limited choices

Does anyone know why the top of the range CLK is so severely limited on interior colours (UK options) ?

If you get the avantgarde you can have sporty two tone leather seats. The AMG version does not have this option. Is the avantgarde more sporty ?

There are lots of leather choices for avantgarde and elegance that aren't available on the AMG. Same is true for the SL55 - there are more choices on SL500 ?

Are they trying to force customers to buy the premium priced designo options ?

They know, most of these customers definitely can afford designo,

There are just a few cheap people who do NOT want to spend a fortune for the luxury of e.g. a partially leather-wrapped mahagony shiftknob.

I don't know if UK customers have other options than us, but we get to order 3 two-tone nappa leather seats. Either black-black (ok isnt 2 colors heh), black-dark blue, black-dark red..

Designo is great too, but too expensive.. I love my AMG black/blue seats a lot..!

Well, when I ordered my cabriolet, I ordered the Espresso designo package and when the car finally came 9 months later, I only got half the package. The paint is there but the interior wasn't. It seems in the fine print somewhere the cabriolets only got charcoal interior. They ended up not charging me for the paint but if I had known I wouldn't have ordered it.
Oh well, I still love the car and it does go like stink. :p
