HELP:Front subframe
As some of you might know recently I crashed my CLK55 but dont worry if you didnot knew there was no harm done to anyone but my car... I decided to restore/upgrade the clk, taking it as a project car to learn few things.
Now the front subframe is cracked by the right upper control arm, i would not consider soldering the brocken piece for many reasons but i made a deal with a local junkyard to buy both the rear quarter panel and front subframe (crossmember) for only $800..seem like a good deal.
Does anyone contain info on removing the sub-frame? I was thinking on raising the engine a little bit to remove the mounts from the frame and proceed to dissasemble but WIS or other data would be great!
Thanks!

Based on the WIS above the axle support might just bolt in. You will find out if the cars frame is tweaked when attempting this repair.
The rear quarters are usually supplied from the bone yard as an entire 1/4 section of car. The Pros will strip the entire rear of the car and un bond the factory quarter panel fully by removing spot welds and chiseling away at the seams. Mig weld in the replacement. If the quarters are straight under the skin than grafting pieces of it are possible. But the body filler and welding materials are not always a perfect fit and finish.
If you are going to do this yourself be sure to measure everything twice cut once.
I admire your commitment to the car and hope it works out for you.
Cheers, Gator
PS: the engine should be supported by a cherry picker (engine crane) the car on jack stands behind the front fenders, I am not sure how Benz assembled the car but engine normally bolts in after the axle support is installed and fasteners torqued.
