OEM Xenons faulty
So I had this issue since last week or two weeks ago. I read up about it last week. People saying the lights comprise of three components namely the xenon ballaster/controller box, the HID light bulb and lastly the ignitor cable for the bulb I think. So I was quoted at one place roughly $100 for one 2nd hand ballaster and another place $70. These are OEM 2nd hand units. So before I went and bought one, I stripped them and swapped them. Problem seemed to have gone away. Come back later after having not bought the part, NB the boxes are still swapped, turn it on and there it starts flickering again. Nothing is loose. No wires or bolts or bulb. So its not the controller because the one that was flicking isn't on the opposite side and the other that wasn't flicking now is flicking on the side which initially had a fault.
So it aint the controllers. I noticed one bulb is white whilst the other is bluish in colour like a light purple. The light purple bluish one is faulty.
Is it the bulb and what can I expect to pay for another? Should I buy them from a Bosch retailer or from the agents themselves?
How would I test them ignitor cables for the xenons?

If the kelvin temps shifted, most likely it's the bulb that went bad. What you'll need is a set of D2S xenon bulbs.
If interested, we carry high end Morimoto D2S bulbs that'll work and many other MBs have upgraded to after theirs die. Offered in 5000K (pure white) and 6000K (white with a slight bluish hue).

What would is cost to ship/courier to South Africa, Gauteng province?
So it seems that I have one 6000k bulb and one 5000k bulb on my car. Probably the previous owner made this hick up.
