Heat Seat problem??
Hi,
I just bought a 2003 CLK55 W209 from my friend. He said that the passenger heat seat stopped working first. The button does not light the LED's when you press it. About 3 months later, the drivers side was not working too - same problem.
Do you guy know what's the problem? Any suggestion to fix it?
Thanks!

Still suffering with the same issue. No fuses gone on my side. There does seem to be a loose connection on the small square plug on the inner section toward the gearbox side under the seat on the controller box or whatever it is. Its now summer so don't require it but in winter my heater was working fine. Well the engine emits enough heat to even have to put the heater on.
If you come right pls lemme know what you did and how you did it. I think we are to start at the plug connector and then at the button on the dash but you need a special tool to remove the panel with all the switch controllers on them to check whats cooking behind there.

They are probably dead
lower seat cushion heating elements have a number of issues that cause them to fail.
most of the time they can not be repaired and replacement covers are $$$
like others i put aftermarket pads in and given their limitations they are functional and cheap

I have figured out two different heated seat problems. Look under the seat. The bottom and top cushions are wired in series. Unplug them and test the resistance of both together and if shorted then each one. If one is shorted then you know you have a burnt out element and which cushion to replace (or add aftermarket heater). If they both have resistance then it is the fuse/wiring.
