Thanks for the reply. How would I attach a reinforcing metal strap, or straps, to the back of the bumper where it's hidden? I may be able to get some scraps from a head unit installation. Are there mounting places for screws or bolts above and below the broken vertical parts? I wonder if the body shop left off some kind of bracket that would have precluded the deterioration. There are no scratches on the underside indicative of tearing on road obstacles..
If you use your imagination while shopping at the hardware store. They have flat stock. All thread 1/4" will work. Duct strap metal binding strap. Just have to think about it Bond it in and then use the plastic jb weld on the exterior for final finish. It will last longer and remain strong.
