Exclamation 2003 CLK55 AMG W209 Question

Has anyone ever heard anything about the proper way to turn off the ESP in this car/other MBZ AMG? I am under the impression that you do not have to be in PARK when you turn off the ESP. I have never heard anyone say anything about any requirement for turning off the ESP. If I am just cruising along at any speed, is it okay to turn it off? I would be more than happy to turn it off in PARK if "the car appreciates that". Someone please shed light on this

Do you mean disengage it fully or just disable the throttle cut? Turn it off whenever you like, any speed. It will no longer close the throttle body on you, but the ESP braking will still be enabled and the light will flash.

There is a way to disable the whole thing but I wouldn't want to.

The only way to fully disable the ESP is the Dyno Mode, but ABS and dynamic steering will be off too

I am just talking about how you can switch the ESP off while the car is on. Not hooking it up to any machine to disable it. I was just trying to figure out if it's okay to turn of the ESP while you are doing any speed?
Like say I am going 60 mph with the ESP ON, if I flip the switch off at the point, will this harm the car at all?

Won't hurt it at all. I turn it off all the time.
Then it turns itself back on randomly while I'm driving. So I turn it off again.

I do not see the logic behind turning it off at 60 or so mph/kmh. You only want to use it during launching the car off the line and not whilst doing anything else. So rather if you gona drive spiritedly, then do it when the car isn't in motion. I do that and it never goes off until I press the button again.

I only use it at one particular intersection when pulling out onto a fast road from a stop after a sharp left turn, stops esp ruining cutting all power. Dyno mode doesn't require machines etc, it can be accessed while in the car.
