Ouch that hurt! Repair/Bodyshop in NoVA?
Driving down I-95 Friday night. Raining hard. Doing well below PSL but hit a patch of standing water. Swapped *** for front and hit the guardrail backwards. Was going to try to bring her back around but ran out of pavement before I could execute. We'll see what insurance says tomorrow?
Look at that OZ wheel - DESTROYED!
That's what kissing a guardrail will do to you.
Suspension definitely busted.

Thanks Buddy! One advantage to driving a Benzo, they're built like a tank. Insurance adjuster comes tomorrow - we'll see what he's got to say. In a way I hope they total her, and then I can part her out. I've got some good mods that might go cheap to a nice home!

Thanks Zayed, I don't know. Once they're crunched they're never the same. It may be the perfect excuse to start looking for a 63BS, or an SL65, if they can be found and I can secure the financing! Either way I'll probably be looking for something new (to me)!

That's it, she's totaled, and I'm outta here. Great getting to know you guys. The W209 community is the most active when it comes to mods - keep up the good work guys!
Many thanks to Blackbenzz, Ash, Shardul, DiceCedes, Betrezra, Zayed, Gater, Cory and Brandon at Kleemann USA, Jacky at Vivid Racing, the guys at MBH, Swain Tech and a whole host of others. If I missed anyone my apologies.
So what's next - I dunno just yet. Looking to get a low mileage 2012 R231 SL63 5.5 biturtbo, but we'll see. I'll check in every now and then to see what's going on in this part of the woods. Be safe! Greg

Ouch,
Sorry to see that but Benz are mighty strong and we are not.
It saved you, consider inspecting the underside. Likely minimal damage to structure but control arms/ball joints would be shot.
This accident would not tweak the frame but a quarter panel repair would never be the same.
Beyond it is totaled: edited for added content. Rolex 24 countdown 14 min, Fill Coolers Men

kb24, just went back and looked at the dyno sheet. Numbers don't mean much on these as each system is different, and settings can have a huge influence, as well as altitude and temp.
At 13,000 ft running 91 octane she pulled 443 RWHP with 446Tq.

It is a Damb shame that most AMG vehicles end up totaled.
We work diligently to increase the potential of the beast and it is often others that we mistake with nature that takes them out.
The cost of parts along with intensity of damage easily makes these cars an insurance grant for some and a love loss for others.
Lets watch the superbowl and remorse.

So the ins co valued her at $22,500. When I told them I wanted to remove aftermarket and return to OE they said value would drop to $16000. Not worth the time or effort. Next up - Clk63 BS or SL63 5.5 biturbo. We'll be in touch - later, Greg

Just posted in the 63 BS forum so I thought I'd stop by and see what you guys have been up to while I've been on sabbatical. Ended settling for $27.5K with the ins co. I think that was fair. When I told them I wanted to pull the upgrades they quoted me a price of $17.5!! Hate to see the Kleemann go to some chop shop instead of a good home but it just didn't make economic sense - sorry guys.
I've got some stray parts I'll be selling soon - nothing big, but I'll pass them along at bargain basement prices as they're a sunk cost to me now!
Thanks for all the well wishes - now it's on to the 63 BS or SL 63 bi-turbo!
Later - Greg
