Auto volume control on audio system...
My 2002 CLK55 has this "convenience" feature. I really dislike this intervention.
Can this be defeated on my car somehow?

Do a search for volume control.......I found that people here were able to find a microphone up near the sunroof.
Here's what I did: first I took off the light covers near the sunroof controls. Inside that area are two metal tabs that have to be pulled downward....this lets you pop off the cover to get at all the wires for the lights and sunroof. With a flashlight, I found the microphone up and to the right I believe. It was connected by a brown wire. It also has a connector that pulls apart, so you can just disconnect it. I'm pretty sure this is what you want. It made the sound stop going up and down when I would come to a stop.
There is a thread somewhere that has pics of the microphone and wire I'm talking about. Hope this helps.

I also think that folks have been going to their dealers and having the Db rating turned to "0"...I think this has the same effect....lots of interruption prior to this for folks with aftermarket subwoofers.
