Need to wrap Headliner and pillars on my W208 into Alcantara. Need advice on color

Hello!
I need to wrap headliners, pillars and door panel part (I have selected it on the picture) on my w208 into Alcantara. The interior is gray.

(I borrowed pictures from another thread)

My interior guy is telling me, that black would be much better but I don't exactly know which one would be better - gray or black.

What do you think? Has anyone here changed interior? Can you please show pics? I have hard time imagine what it would look like.

p.s i must give him answer tomorrow, because the cars interior is already taken apart

Any opinion will be appreciated!

Thanks

I'd go with the gray color of your dash.

i would have to go with gray as well...black would stick out too much with that lighter interior

Thanks guys for reply. My interior guy was insisting on the black and I went with that color. He also said, that gray headliners has many negative sides.

I agree, black can stick out too much, but the result is still very intersting for me, I have googled and have not found any pictures on the net.

I also have a backup plan to add more black here (marked in red)

If it wont be enough, I will change the color of my dashboard to black and in the end it will look cool

It will be ready in 2-3 days and will post pictures here

what are the negatives of a gray headliner?
most CLK55 cars have a black interior and came from the factory with grey headliner.

He was not against grey headliner in general, he was against grey alcantara.

I think, that in your case black interior + grey headliner is a nice option. If the roof were black too, the interior would become too dark. Mine will be just reversed lol

The major negative what he told me is, that it gets dirty very fast and is very hard to clean & maintain.

My main worry is, that currently my car will have three different colors (black, dark grey, grey)

If it becomes too motley I will replace all the dark grey materials with black, if it don't work too, I will change carpets to black and if it doesn't work too I will sell my car and buy CLK55

I have grey alcantara on my seats and they have stayed very clean.

I think the black will be fine. It's what i would have done between those 2 choices

The advantage of alcantara is that it's easy to clean. Whatever you fancy. You're going to spend more in upholstery than the car is worth.

Thank you all for replies. I am glad, that at least one person here (ROLLNNN) supports black
The black headliners will change everything and the result will be very good or very bad I guess. Very curious to see what will come out.
Will post pictures here, it may help out someone who will be in the same situation as me (I could not find pictures of the gray CLK 208 interior with black Alcantara headliner)

Okey, My interior guy has done the job and I think it looks pretty cool. It is not black, in sunlight it looks like dark blue and in the dark it looks like black

here are the pictures:

Now I need to clean my interior. What chemicals do you recommend? I can only buy from Amazon.
Thanks
