Key fob repair needed

One of the keys I got from the original owner always had a non working "lock" button, all other buttons worked. I opened the fob only to find the miniature black actuator button totally detached from the computer board, it literally fell off. How do I put it back?

Could you please assist me with a photo of the circuit board and the component. Something similar happened with my old key and a tiny piece disappeared after it fell off the table. Now the open button doesn't work at all. Had to order an entire new key from agents but due to part superseding, I now have a W204 model key.

I hope this is what you want. The little piece with a black button (to the right) is the detached button, it is supposed to sit in the spot below 2 green diodes in the middle of the board.

Thanks heaps man. I would tell you that seems like an easy fix. But getting this krap to stick is hard especially when its tiny and more intricate work. My wife tells me that you need to apply a lil solder to the board where it came off. Then place the component over those spots and hold it using a tweezer. Then slightly heat the solder on the board whilst holding the component over that point. It should melt and form a bond.

Total and complete success, I went to Best Buy's geek squad at the 3rd largest shopping mall in the US, Palisades Center Mall. They outright refused to deal with me. Right in front of it was a mobile phone repair kiosk, the guy charged me $25 and my key fob worked. I am happy, thanks everyone for your help.

great news man. Shame on that people with the shop who could not assist you BUT atleast they never get to rob you on a "minor" repair.

FYI, if you have any more trouble with it, that's the kind of key that can easily be iupdated to the Chrome version.

That's true. I was issued that when I ordered a replacement from agents. The W204 key. Had to wait a month and half for the new emergency key however the one the dealership ordered was wrong so I got a spare metal slide and they incurred the cost for the new one. Or atleast the salesman did.
