I am thinking about replacing mine, but how to choose? So many various manufacturers. Is there really a big difference between them? Any idea?

Stick with "OEM/Bosch" only, don't go with any other aftermarket's..!!!

Why replace them are they bad? I had an 02 clk430 with 200+k on the clock and all original coils.

I have intermittent misfiring which comes and goes with no reason. The "check engine" light is NOT on. I replaced wiring already,but did not do the job myself. So my next step before going through expensive diagnostics is to replace coils. I think it is a cheap option before spending a lot of money? The car has under 90000 miles.

You have to diagnose the car to see which coil have to be replaced by the scan code..!

If you have a coil misfiring you need to know which one and it would throw a CEL.
