Phone help needed...
I purchased a 2001 CLK55 last year that had the phone option installed. Only problem was that there was no phone in the car when I purchased it.
My question is which is the correct phone for this model year. I have a 2001 with a production year of 2000. I am not sue if it is Timeport or the Star Tac for this model year.
Anyone knows the answer to this question?

In a nutshell, you're screwed. You have to use a special Motorola Startac Timeport phone with special MB chips inside of it. MB has the market all locked up so if you want to play, you'll have to pay.
You might find a used one.

i realized i am screwed, but I have access to both the Star Tac and the Tiimeport at a good price. I am just not sure which one works with my car. I am assuming that it is the timeport because my car is a 2001 model year, but it was actually made in 2000 so I am not sure if this makes a diference. The real issue is which on the two works with my car.
