New Guy - Whats Normal?
I sold my 1989 911 Turbo Cab. Although it was tough, an amazing car, I am very happy with the new ride. The 911 was very exhilirating to drive, but frankly not real practical. Maybe I liked the 911 to much, I only drove it 2000 miles per year.
The CLK55, to me, is a great balance of power, refinement, classy yet understated looks and practicality.
My question -
Under moderate or better acceleration, I hear a sound when the drivers window is down that seems like it could be valve noise. My dealer "didn't hear anything". It doesn't really sound like valve noise I have heard before - metal tapping. It sounds a bit more like coffee percolating. Seems to be more pronouced when it is not fully wamed up. Can't hear it under slow accelleration. Problem is, I don't know what is normal. Including mine, I driven a total of 1 CLK. No basis. Anyone have any ideas?
The only noise I hear with the window down is the exhaust

p.s. Congrats on the new ride and welcome!
