19" Wheel/tire/offsets

Hey guys... I am somehow making my way around the 55line up it seems.

As one chapter closes another opens... I am selling off my W211 E55 to stash some cash for an upcoming business purchase, and kicking around the idea of CLK55since they are dropping in price and not quite as maintenance hungry as the W211. There is one I can acquire cheapish that will need some maintenance I can DIY. Having said that, I have a set of BBS that I want to install on it, they're 19x8.5/19x9.5

After reading many many threads... it looks like I'm going to want a 30offset(front) and 35offset (rear)?

Running a 225/35/19(front) and 255/30/19(rear) which I might substitute for a 245/35/19 rear because its a little taller for crappy boston roads and I already have them

My question is do you guys think these offsets and tire sizes are going to work? Can I run a 245/35/19 on the front tire as well? Can I get more aggressive in the rear without poking?

What's up bro-ski?

245 in front is a bit much if you're planning to lower the car.

What is your end goal as far as fitment / stance? Are you trying to let the CLK sit like your E? More meat, less stretch? Less meat, more stretch?

Depending on how aggressive you plan to go, you can use a much lower offset if you wish. I have specs from trial and error from my old W208 and my bro's current W209 55.

One limiting factor are the front brakes. Whether you have the BBK or the smaller calipers.

I'm a big fan of steam rollers... but I don't think Ill be able to do that on this platform.

I am mostly looking for form and function... so as much meat I can stuff under the fenders as possible without rubbing. The car will be low(similar to my E) but will probably get tracked a whole lot so I need to be able to drive it with out rubbing.

I will be running my BBS CHRs on the car so whatever offset I need to achieve will be done with spacers

If that's the case, and you need as much tire as possible, then yes... the offsets you mentioned are good.

Looking at my old setup with my W208, my offsets were in the low "teens". Lips were 1.5" - 2" past the fender with a pretty good stretch.

+30 in the front is good.

For the rear, I'd probably do +30 also. If you did +35 in the rear, you'll most likely end up telling yourself... "eh, I'm gonna need spacers."
