clk55 amg clicking under dashboard

i have a clicking noise coming from under my dash board when I start the car. I believe it could be the vent motor. Does anybody know how to fix this easily?

I guess it could be all sorts of things. There is an extremely common error tho that I would suggest checking out first. Its most likely the stepper motor that controls where the air is directed to. There is an arm that can break off that causes that sound. You can also try the reset procedure.

From Rudeney:
"Try the ACC test/reset procedure: with the engine running, simultaneously press and hold the RECIRC and FRONT DEFOG buttons until their indicator lights begin to blink. They should blink for 20-30 seconds while the system is tested. If they stop, then all is good. If not, then you have a fault and your best bet is to get someone with SDS to read the codes from the ACC to see what is wrong."

I recently heard a loud slam under the dash that fits this description.
Charcoal filter door error comes up.

Its all the little gimps that make these cars more of a challenge to maintain as they age.

Hey Gator, ever figure anything out about that loud slam from the dash? When my hvac is turned on or off or when turning on car or shutting off there is a shockingly loud slam from something opening and shutting. Any info would be great, can't seem to find much on charcoal filter door. Thanks!

One of the most common issues with these cars ( W209 & W203 )

If this
is what you are talking about then your problem is HVAC stepper motors !

Almost same DIY OF W203 : https://mbworld.org/forums/c32-amg-c...ils-steps.html

Hope this help you !

Slam only occoured once. I restored a CLK 55 coupe to running condition after several years of neglect. I suspect an air flow door with leaves and lighter accumulation in the duct system.
Chico may have something here as well.
Best, Gator
