Front Strut Brace and CAI
Recently I have made some small improvements here and there and decided to tackle front and rear strut braces.
Not much available but I chose the Weichers kit.
The rear one I did in a couple hours; the front one I paid one of my friends who is a professional to install it in about 3h then another 3h for yours truly to build a CAI.
When using that strut bar the stock box has got to go and tbh it was a good thing since there were a couple flaws with it.
first there is a really restrictive 135 degree elbow then the airbox itself to me doesn't have enough room in it. Too much of a design compromise.
Anyway I went with 3.5in from throttlebody and bought a 3.5 inlet dual 3in outlet Y-pipe. In the end I cannibalized the tubes to finish it off.
at first I wanted to use the flex to mock it up but decided to keep it; in the future I may go aluminum tubing from Y-pipe to airboxes but will keep the flex from boxes to fresh air ports.
lastly, sorry about the cell phone pic
