W209 CLK55 AMG
W209 Climate Contol
Good day All.
I recently bought a 2006 CLK55 AMG convertible. My first Mercedes ever. It does have a few issues that I am addressing. One issue that I would appreciate some help with is the climate control. The aircon works fine, the heater works fine. But the Climate control only works when the roof is down. If the roof is closing, the climate control works fine right up to the very last action of the roof...just before it completes the closing cycle. But the moment the roof is closed, the climate control opens the flaps for maximum hot air even if the temperature is set at 17 Deg C. The moment the roof starts to open again, cool air starts coming from the vents. And by adjusting the temperature it controls hot and cold air as would be expected.
Now I have a feeling its something to do with a switch that monitors the roof position ?? But the roof busy indication on the dash works fine. So I assume there must be more than one switch ???
Anybody has some insight on this ?
Thanx
Pieter

The W208 has an AC interrupt when the top opens. I swapped out my blower fan resistor when it went bad and that disappeared.
Fan runs with top down now. I would plug in with STAR and see if the interlock can be corrected. We cannot access the top control system but the AC might show some codes and faults.
Best, Gator
