Transmission quirk 2002 CLk55 AMG
Hi folks
I have a question concerning transmission on my CLK 55.
Over the last month I had this glitch in the transmission after I pushed hard on the accelerator trying to pass a slow truck etc.
The transmission sticks to the 3rd or 4th gear and does not shift after that. Does not go to the manual mode either.
After I stop the car and turn it back on, it goes back to normal shifting smoothly like nothing happened...
Anyone had that problem before?
Thanks
Joe V

Transmission problems are hard to troubleshoot on a forum. Also the fixes can cost a lot. I would suggest going somewhere with STAR and have the run a scan. this is assuming you have checked the fluid. I have to assume because you did not include any troubleshooting steps you did.

Trans fluid check
Pardon the newby question but, how do you go about checking the transmission fluid? Heard they were sealed etc.
Thanks
Joe

They are not sealed and get yuko if you do not service them with the proper fluid.
There are only a few problems that can happen and there is a wealth of information in the forum.
Trans memory reset.
Trans conductor plate connector leak.
Trans TCU fail from fluid contamination.
Happy searching, These transmissions are really strong when serviced properly.
Check the W208/209 non AMG forums as well.
