W208 CLK55 shock advice - parts are scarce

Greetings,

My 2002 CLK55 had 117K on it it and gotten pretty clunky on bumpy roads. I recently had some work done on my car and my mechanic said he could only find 1 OEM shock in the country. I started looking around and looks like the OEM shocks were Sachs. I am not interested in lowering or stiffer shocks. I just want OEM. I just called the dealer and only $304 each for the front and $653 each for the rears....haha.

It is confusing because I see replacements out there but the part numbers are different and sometimes it just says "fits CLK55." It does not even specify L or R and I believe I they come in L and R.

Wondering if anyone can recommend?

I have seen Bilstein B4's which are supposed to be OE.

Some options...

Tirerack front - they say these are direct fit OEM spec.

Autohauz AZ - rear -

thanks

Get the Sachs from Tirerack or the Bilstein OE replacements from partsgeek. There's nothing special about these shocks; either one of those should give you OEM ride quality. They are the same left-to-right, but differ front-to-rear, as far as I know.

Cool, thanks. Exactly what I needed.

Hello all
I have a 34k 01 clk 55 and would like to replace the shocks with anything of quality for performance not necessarily original parts
What are my options ?
Do not seem to find anything and the car is still new needing to be driven and enjoyed
Does Koni still make shocks for this either sport or fsd ?

Thanks

Mario
