Drivers Vanity Mirror Light out. Not bulb. Looking for Micro Switch
Hello,
I have searched the forums and not finding anything specifically related to the CLK. My drivers side vanity / sun visor mirror light will not work. I have swapped the bulb and no change. The passenger side works as well as all other interior lights. I found some other threads related to C class and there is apparently a little blue micro switch in the visor that can fail.
The C Class part # is A2118700510 but I Am trying to first, see if this part exists on the W208 CLK and if anyone knows the part #?
Here is another example for CLS class.

Thanks!

Out Of Control!!
Based on your VIN, there is nothing in EPC to indicate any spare bulb any other electronic part available within the R or L sun visor--------you need to look at the wiring diagram for interior light system to determine where the lamp gets its voltage.

The good news is that the switch appears to be the same. I can even send you mine if you want it.
The bad news is that it may not be possible to remove the switch without destroying the mirror. (my car is a 2002 CLK55)

Thanks for the replies - I think I narrowed down the issue. I removed the plastic part that holds the bulb assembly and tested continuity - all good.
We also tested the switch (when you open the mirror) and that appears to be good. I believe we put the continuity tester on the bulb assembly and then opened the mirror which displayed continuity. (forgive me, my father helped and he is way more savvy than I )
The last test I think revealed the issue. Where the visor 'snaps in' there are 2 metal contacts - and they snap in and make contact with 2 metal contacts on the part that holds the visor. Makes sense that you would only open the mirror and get light with the visor snapped in. We tested for continuity across those 2 contacts on the clip that is mounted to the headliner and holds the visor in place. No continuity. I tested the same thing on the passenger side and it worked.
So it looked like something has failed between the clip and the bulb assembly. I am assuming a wire goes between the 2 and would probably need to take the headliner down to address.
How these things happen blows my mind....
I attached some pics and the one with the arrows shows where I think the problem is - between these 2 points.
I actually found a few of these on Ebay. Looks like the bulbs for both sides are 1 wire. Maybe this is what I need
