W208 2001 CLK55 Instrument cluster problem
Hi,
I was overseas for a few days last week, and left my car parked outside on the street, with my battery disconnected. When I reconnected and started the car, I found that the fuel gauge, warning lights and digital displays weren't working.
The speedometer, engine temperature gauge, and tacho are all fine though. The multifunction steering wheel doesn't seem to be working either, although, I can only test the radio volume up/down, as the digital displays are blank.
I should add, that it rained during the week, and I suspect this caused the problem. I've checked the fuses, and all are OK.
I've read on this (and other) forums, that this is not an uncommon occurrence, but I haven't been able to see any definitive reason or solution to this.
Any thoughts or comments would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
