Deconstructing the Wiring Harness
I'm on to the next phase of my weight reduction in the CLK55: Wiring Harness Deconstruction
I'm getting rid of all the circuits that won't be needed in the car, such as traction control, GPS, cell phone, etc. The factory cloth tape is a sticky mess, so that's all getting removed and will be cleaned up and replaced with Painless Wiring's split woven sleeve.

No, THIS is madness:
I think I'm going to go ahead and get a SmartWire PDM, which will replace all of the SAMs with a single, programmable, solid-state device. It will also play well with the Holley Dominator standalone EFI that I have planned, as well as the RacePak dash.
Next step is to design and then build a harness that will tie into the factory wiring a each of the SAMs.
