Sorry if I offend anyone by asking an already answered, but so far have not found a definitive thread on this. Have a 2001 CLK 55 AMG with a badly deteriorated steering wheel. Seems like plenty of decent 208/210 wheels on the market but not certain they are interchangeable. Anyone have experience with this swap?
thanks

The wheels are interchangeable among models, Problem is slip ring contact location.
The AMG wheel is unique and can be re upholstered.
I use an el cheapo cover from the local auto parts store for DD.
I want to do my cab in alcantera .

Thanks GMB. I found a 01 CLK55 wheel in 'decent' shape on ebay and will be rehabilitating it for use in the car. I also found a US based upholsterer who will do a complete refit on my existing wheel for about 480. Will keep that in my back pocket as the CLK restore progresses depending on how well the eBay wheel turns out.Originally Posted by GatorMB
