2005 - Anyone in the US see one in the flesh?
My dealer called me last week and told me mine was at the port in Germany ready to be shipped. I'm sure the changes discussed in a few previous threads are fact, except 18 inch wheel's. Of course I hope it does in fact come with 18 inch wheel's, and don't understand why it wouldn't???? I don't understand why in previous years it didn't. 17's don't look right at all!

'06 ML500 w/Apperance pkg & '07 SL550 w/AMG pkg
I don't think anyone has seen one here in the states or if they have, they are not on this board. Mine is making its voyage across the Atlantic and is due to arrive at the port of Los Angeles on August 5th. I should see the car at the store with in 6 or 7 days after. I have already started modding the car, even thought I don't have the keys yet!! Picked out the rims & tyres, authentic flat AMG hood badge and Illuminated AMG door sills! I CANNOT WAIT MUCH LONGER!!!

My dad picked up the 1st Cdn '05 AMG a week ago
What a car! I drive/Solo2 a 350Z (previously ran a twin turbo RX-7) so I'm quite the car freak. Being a bit of a cheap *******, I have to say that the AMG is worth every penny. Acceleration wise, it should definitely give my Z a good run (I've got some goodies under my hood ). Six pot calipers with floating rotors up front were the first things that got my attention on the Benz. Wow! Comfort, style, and quality are simply in another league.
The car is a 2005 CLK55 AMG cabriolet. Dark blue roof (744 top code) with blue blue leather accents and Burl Walnut interior trimming (looks better than expected). Other options are vented front seat, command, keyless flob (pretty cool - has a starter button on top of the shifter), Teleaid System, CD changer, Integrated phone, and voice recognition. Apparently this car was originally slated to be Mercedes Canada's press car b/c it's the first '05. Luckily the dealership got their hands on it instead. Funny thing is that the '05 pricing wasn't set yet, so we were charged '04 MSRP.
As for the exterior, it looks just like an '04 model. I can confirm it's got 18" rims (gorgeous I might add) with 225 up front and 245 rear equipped with Continental tires which is a bit of a surprise. So far, the only '05 changes that i've been told are the DVD screen which slides out to reveal a DVD slot and a separate CD slot. Benz has also spec'd a new phone (T Mobile or something) to be used as the '04 model is no longer supported. The phone and updated DVD nav disk are due to arrive this week.
I was acutally looking for some nice license plate frames for my dad's car. Preferably a nice polished border with a plexiglass cover. Suggestions would be appreciated.
I can take pictures of specific items/parts of the car if requested.

Doubtful I'll get pictures today b/c it's raining all day. I'll try and get some over the weekend though.

Sorry for the delay. It's been a busy week. I just got some pics done a couple of minutes ago. I zoomed up to the aero humps b/c I was told they were new for '05 (not 100% sure of that though). I also included an interior pic with the DVD screen in eject mode (new for '05?). BTW, the Walnut interior is darker than the pics show. The flash really makes it reddish. I also included a pic of the tire size to show they're 18". Enjoy.
