Please help auxiliary fuel pump overheat
hope you are all OK. My car (03 reg W209 55 AMG) did not start yesterday.
Had it towed to a Merc Specialist.
They found out that the auxiliary fuel pump (the one immersed in the fuel tank) seems to have overheated.
The connectors show obvious signs of overheat.
My 3 questions are the followings
- I removed the left hand side boot trim to restore it. The breakdown occured immediately after I had it put back. I am wondering whether I may have messed up with something in the boot relay/fuses area. Any idea on this please?
- The connector on cable that plugs into the pump has melted too. I intend to change the witring harness along with the pump. The problem is that I do not manage to find the ref of the cable on the internet at all. Any help?
- The part number for the pump is as following : A2034703494. I have tried to find it everywhere on the internet, with no success. Only place I found it was at the Merc main dealer. They are asking for silly money for it. Any place/ any good plan for either aftermarket or second hand one please?
Thanks in advance!
