Hey guys, I was working under the hood on my 04 clk55 and the wind caught the hood and laid it back onto my windshield. Luckily it did not break the windscreen, but both hood hinges snapped the pivot pin that holds the upper part of the hinge to the lower part. Looking at the hinge, I dont see any other way to remove it without removing the fender which I really dont want to do. First question, does fender for sure have to be removed? Second question, can just the pins be replaced? Hinges arent bent, nothing wrong aside from that pressed in dowel snapped in half. Any advice or suggestions on the simplest remedy? Thanks in advance.
