Xenon Headlamp Shadow (Cat-eye?)
Anyone notice a shadow in front of their car on the left hand side at night with your xenon lights? Seems that 2 blotches of light veer off towards the right hand side of the car. Took the car into the dealer, they said the alignment is fine, and this is common among xenons. They call it some "cat-eye" thing? Just wanted to make sure they werent just brushing me off. Please let me know your thoughts on this. He did say its a common complaint from ppl that have xenon headlamps on their car. Thnx...

I might be wrong, but I think it's done so that the xenon lights don't blind the drivers coming at you from the opposite direction on one lane roads. That's why it's only on the left side. I didn't notice it on my CLK55, but it was very noticeable on my BMW 540i.

That could be the case, but all I know for sure is that the xenon on the driver's side is dipped lower than the passenger side so that oncoming traffic won't be blinded. Not so sure about 'veering to the right' though.

Thanks for the insight. It makes sense that it is only on the drivers side, therefore perhaps to not blind the oncoming driver. I can tell you this though, its freakin annoying though.

I find with my xenons that in low beam mode I don't see far enough ahead of me...because the lights aren't strong enough. Now the high beams....holy crap. Those are wicked strong.
