Lightbulb CLK55 ... what would be an upgrade??

Hi everyone,
I am new to this forum although I have read it extensively for the past 2 weeks. I am in a bit of a delima and needing advice. I have a 2001 CLK55 with almost 49K on it, I have read the posts about trade in and resale going down the drain. I am also experiencing some of the problems listed in the forum; the fuel guage malfunction, the ABS problem, the Fog lights, and most recently the instrument guages.

So here is my question?? Do I keep this car which is the first car I've ever truly loved and I had an M3 for 2 days IMO its a huge POS compared to the MB. The expenses are adding up significantly with the brakes $1000 to replace soon and services 150 and 450 a shot I am wondering if I should cut my losses and get a newer car.

I am not impressed with the 209 55 as the interior went to hell, except for the dash (love it) and the styling isn't to my liking either. love the keyless go and the one touch moonroof but having the controls on the door was not thinking IMO.

So if you were to part with your beloved CLK55 and stay with MB what would you, dare I say, upgrade to??

I will try and post some pics of my car when I figure out how

Thanks

To me, that says it all...

Get the items fixed under warranty that qualify and get all the maintenance up to spec.

Don't change unless you really want/love another car.

Good luck!

Thanks for the quote:

I hadn't even realized I wrote that before you quoted it! I went to the dealership yesterday and drove an SL55 but it didnt seem like 130K to me. I think I will retain my car and look into some performance upgrades and some new rims.

white and whiter
check the 05 CLK again. they just updated the interior like the C-class, and the 05 CLK55 gained a LOT of stuff. i.e. 6-pot front and 4-pot rear brakes, 18 AMG dual spokes, and quad-exhaust.

i didn't like the 03-04 CLK55 because i thought it was overpriced w/ the 203 interior. BUT boy, have I change my mind now with the 2005.

Talking

Kleeman kit?? How and where I am in Oklahoma the land of nothing so I'm pretty sure there's no dealer servicing for that and no installers nearby either ROAD TRIP!! I'm game how long would it take to install it?? . How much are we talking about if I may ask. I have 19inch Lorinser LM5's (replicas) I think I don't know how to tell lol and Nitto ZR tires; would I need to go down to 18's for stability and traction minus wheelspin or?? The cluster is on order and should be fixed in a week or so I am good there hopefully. Where do I find pics of the 2005 interior?? I didn't realize they were changing it?!

Thanks for all your help, look forward to your sound advice. As soon as I figure out how to post pics I have them on a disk just can't figure it out yet

Check here for your nearest authorized Kleemann dealer! http://www.kleemann.dk/contacts/f_usa.htm
Install normally takes about a week or less. Pls check with the Kleemann dealer for your pricing. No need to go down on tire size. You might also get the LSD if you do get this kit cuz traction will be one of your issues since the power you'll be experiencing is...

Let us know how it goes for ya!
