CLK320 battery drain
Hello all hoping I can get some experienced help. 2002 CLK320 with 35K miles. I do not drive the car regularly but do drive for about 25 miles every couple of weeks. I have been replacing battery every year and a half due to battery losing charge. Once car begins not starting it will start easily with a jump but never recovers. I have read MANY threads and problem seems to point to battery built into ATA . Threads have stated this behind the "right" fender wall. Is "right" passenger or driver side? Different if sitting in car or looking at it lol. I also see it is fuse 8 and 9 that controls this but pulling would disable FOB. I plan on tracing with meter this weekend to confirm this is where drawer is coming from. I also have seen unit needs to be literally cut open ? I am not interested in replacing as I am OK with no ATA but wondering if cutting wires going to alarm is an option rather than the work of removing. Would cutting wires interfere with other items on circuit? Thank you getting tired of buying $200 batteries !
