rear axle help please!
I just bought my first MB which happens to be a w209 2003 CLK55. I have been sorting through some things and came across a problem that needs repair. The rear inner axle boot is torn and needs replacing. the axle itself seems fine and no noise is generated by the rear end or shaft. I am not interested in buying a new complete axle, I am interested in a boot replacement. I will try a split boot because I have had no success finding a link or video on axle replacement on a CLK. Any help would be appreciated greatly! BTW love the car and really look forward to playing with it!!! Just in case I will be posting this as well in the regular 209 forum.

even if you could repair the boot you are going to need to pull the half axle out and the cv joint could be gone anyway
i just did this with a replacement i bought on ebay
get the right part # and make sure its true and the boots are sound and you will be better off

Axle shaft replacement
Have a couple questions if anyone knows that’d be great. Are the axles shafts compatible for the w209 models? I have to change the axles on my 03 clk 55. Can’t find them anywhere but I found 05 clk 550 axles. They haven’t arrived yet but It ls be nice to know if they will work or not.
