CLK55 Random White Smoke
Hey guys! So I’ve had my 02 CLK55 for almost 6 months. It’s got 158k on it. Has been great so far. Not eating oil, coolant levels are consistent. No drips in my garage (yes even with lower cover off).
So the other night I took the fam through a drive through Xmas light show with the top down and the car starts smoking a lot. Was definitely white in color and I could have sworn I smelled coolant. Grabbed food after the show and after sitting for an hour, car drove the 30 miles home at 80 mph with no smoke.
oil levels are still “OK” according to readout and coolant levels appear fine. Doesn’t appear to be any oil in the water or water in the oil. Took it out once more just to the grocery store and no smoke there either.
Kind of stumped. Obviously, I’ll go to a mechanic, but to be honest I haven’t found one I trust yet in Phoenix. If it is a head gasket, I’d think the smoke would be pretty consistent. Maybe valve seals? Anyone else experience something like this?
