CLK 55 AMG 2004
I have just bought a clk55 2004 and noticed right away that the temps started rising the second i stop the car and let it idle. So i opened the hood and saw that the radiator fan does not operate.
Now i have done som research on the topic and tried replacing the motor/ control unit for the fan and when i plugged it in and tried starting, everything worked perfectly, but now it only works sometimes and only on the lowest speed so the car still over heats (note: the replacement was a used one from ebay with a hole in the cover on the control unit)
I have meassured the power in to the control unit and it meassures 12v, on the main power wire, 12v on one of the small signal wires and around 1,5-2v on the second small wire (this depends on the engine temp.
does anyone have any suggestions as to what the issiue might be? Maybe the signal voltage from the ecu is too low? If so does anyone know what the right readings are?
i have ordered a brand new motor and control unit, just wanted to check and se if there is something i am not thinking about checking
(Every fuse is working)
sorry for the bad english👍🏼

Check for continuity & volts of the Hella relay which is located in the SAM (against the firewall in the engine bay).

Good luck.....

Here's a pdf attachment which shows the fuses and relays (including the legend as to what they're for) of the front SAM for the w203 chassis. This is what you need to find for your CLK w209 chassis as I'm sure they're slightly different.
Good luck and keep the forum posted....

Here's another url link for what you may need: https://imgvehicle.com/mercedes-benz...-w209/fuse-box
