Possessed CLK55 AMG convertible
Possessed CLK55 AMG convertible
I posted a similar thread on the convertibles forum but I'm going to post this here too. I got rear ended in my perfectly running 2005 CLK55 AMG convertible, and the collision was so hard I thought the whole rear of the car would be crumpled up. Luckily, there was damage to the trunk and bumper cover, and that seemed all the damage. However the top clanked loudly when going down, and I discovered that it had a broken right rear hinge and my trunk partition switch was out of adjustment. Since then the top wouldn't retract past halfway, the left rear window wouldn't go down more than an inch, and then, in a matter of minutes, both rear windows broke their cables. The problem is that the body shop that does all the Mercedes dealer work says that they don't think I was hit hard enough to cause any other damage than the cosmetic body work. I know the convertibles have extra chassis bracing but I can't find any specific information about it. Does anyone know which damaged limit switches or modules would cause my car to be possessed now, and where I could find specific info on the convertible chassis bracing? Thanks.
