Are you joking... Sans the Ferrari engine the Quattro is terrible. The E55 and M5 are the only real contenders for best sports sedan, and the new M5 isn't out in the US yet. Even with the bigger engine I can't get over the the new 5 series body style, and I think the E39 is a classic, so 03 M5 it is!!

I know I'm on the wrong forum to be touting BMW, but I'm an enthustists of all thing motorized, and I like being informed about all brands in case I decide to add to my stable If MB/AMG made more manual options it would have been a harder decision. For now, I'll just take my outdated car and hunt some P-cars.

CLK55 has different way of distributing tq. Many people who had a ride between clk55 and c55 noticed it.

it has more kicks when accelerating. Also ECU files are very different.

Discussion will be soon be over. Final result will be shown soon

Okay. If I go to every kind of forum there is always discussion about who is the fastest. Even the meaning of the definition who is the fastest can have several result. Currently in the motorsport there are 4 and many ways to analyse this.
One of the test I will soon do will reflect the starting from 0-100km/h and the start from 0-1000m.Others will follow maybe as well.
As you can seen I have bought a brand new 2006 clk55amg. My friend owns a 2005 BMW M3 without SMG. Of course I have to emphasize that the M3 with manual shift is quicker than the SMG. Basic facts from BMW if you look at the technical data sheets. This test will reflect only German or European specifications. M3 with gas muffler which is required in some states can have som effect on performance as well and of course of the strict pollution regulation.
We will soon race in salburgring in 6weeks so please check back later.
Me and my friend are proffesional driver and will have the accurate result for the public. Both cars are oem from production will have same weight, which will be compensate by adding or subtracting gasoline from the tank. We will test only the car with 18inch, same basic weight and tank charge.

I hope that we both, me Mercedes lover and my friend M3 lover, can contribute to this discussion
