DIY Advice

I really want to upgrade my W208 CLK55 with the Powerchip Gold ECU program. However, that would require that I remove the ECU myself to send it in to Powerchip. Has anybody out there done this themselves? Is this a particularly tricky procedure, or is it a fairly easy Do It Yourself task? Any advice appreciated!

In that same reply, could you also expalin the + and - of this upgrade.
I'm sure there are -s, cause MB would have programmed the chip to
extract out the max from the engine.

examples: driveability, fuel economy, engine life expectancy shortened,
other mods to take advantage of this reprogram or should it be the other
way around.

I don't ever claim to know what the current engine capabilities are so
I'll leave it to you EXPERTS!!!

RennTech has instructions on their website on how to remove ECU. Good luck!
