Winter Storage & Spring Startup
I have talked to many people in regards to proper ways to store a vehicle for the winter, and I get mixed answers each time. I contacted AMG for their tips and so far I am sticking to their recommendations as follows...
WINTER STORAGE
1. Car is located in a (non-heated) garage.
2. Wash, Wax, Vacuum car.
3. Leave (as little) gas in the tank
4. Disconnect Battery Terminal
5. Inflate all tires to 45-50 psi (to prevent flat-spots)
6. Put cover on car.
7. Folks at AMG told me to don't bother starting the car, just let it sleep thru the winter. They said you risk damaging things more if you start the car, and turn it off. They said just let it sit.
SPRING STARTUP
1. Take car cover off
2. Put 2-3 gallons of fresh fuel in the car
3. Connect Battery Terminal
4. Deflate/Inflate tires back to optimal setting
5. Turn key, start and let idle for some time
6. Drive to nearest gas station and fillerup
If anyone has their own opinions, please let me know...
