I have a 2005 CLK500. I bought 19x8.5 wheels. I bought 225/35/19 for the fronts and I came across a good deal on some 255/35/19 for the rears. Will these tires fit on the back okay?

Okay thanks. I was hoping they would fit. What kind of spacers would you recommend? After I get my wheels put on I'm going to see if I can use spacers as well. I like the look of the wider stance. Depending on the wheel gap I may install Eibach lowering springs as well.

You can fit an 11" rear all day on w209, and 9.5" fronts.. The folks at MEC Design wheels do this all day, 20" all chrome wheels will always give ur wheels a much large illusion.. This all comes down to proper offsets and not being scared to break the typical modding mold of this car..
See this link:

Also ride confront will also depend not SOLEY on rim size/width but the quality of the build itself, say a forged wheel.. 20" would def look sick and not to big if not all chrome.. Have a look at the C63 guys running 20" it look wonderful IF done proper! Rememer the c63 overall body length is shorter than a clk55 w209, and the height of the two cars only vary by a inch or so.

Damn those mec rims are horrible.
I run 235/35/19 F 285/30/19 R. Lowered on Eibachs and the ride is suprisingly harsh.

I wanted to fit 295's in the rear but the guys at D2F tell me 275/30 is the widest possible. I will do everything in my power to fit those 295, I know it can be done someway somehow.

Must have been a placebo affect. The ride feels really harsh for a benz again.Originally Posted by cobrab19
