grill change

Weather is not that great up here in No Cal so I have decided to do a few simple Mods. This is the grill change. I think it is a much cleaner look. I think this is how they should have come from the factory. I will be doing the lighted sills, pedals and a few other cosmetic changes and will post the pics as I complete them.

That's very nice...I have the smaller version of this grill (the one that doesn't quite touch the top and bottom of the grill) on my CLK430 and wish I got the type of grill you have on your ride. I love the color of your W208. Can you believe how MB designers emasculated the W209 body style? Well, have fun and be safe...

Looks awesome I'm thinking of changing mine. I too have the smaller version. Here's a link of some pics of my car: https://mbworld.org/forums/clk-class-w208/97793-my-blk-430-sittin-lorinsers.html

NorCalGregclk55 I must ask you, what is that little meshed chunk missing from say (10:00 to 12:00) in the star? Perhaps an illusion?

Anyway, somehow I am a fan of the star propped on top of the hood. I don't know, it looked kinda classy up there. Just my $0.02.

Mercedes used the star in the grill for the "sport" models and the star on the hood for the "luxury" models. I am not sure why the CLK got it on the hood. The "chunk" that appears to be missing does not stand out quite so much in person, I think the camera really picked it up. That is where the hood release pops out to raise the hood.

So since our cars are sports models the star on top adds a 'lil luxury touch. Best of both worlds

Both setups look nice tho, every1 has their personal tastes. I like the (Big Star) like on yours opposed to the small ones I have seen out there...

Could we see a picture of the entire car with the grill included. I would like to see how proportional the grill is compared to the car.

I do like the new grille but I still prefer the original.

My 2cents...
There are 4 oval shapes on the front, the lights.
With the grill with the MB star, there is too much 'round' shapes present.
When driving, I like to see the 3point star on the hood.
Plus, I use it to help me to judge where the front is.

Looking at the pic of the car from a distance, it does look cool though.
Nice mod!
