Heard the story of a guy following behind a new BS and seeing some flames come out the tailpipes after hard acceleration.

Now that there's a bunch of you out there......true or untrue??

If someone could snag a vid, that would be really sweet.

For now, just wondering if anyone has seen this as well?

Thanks you bunch of BS'ers. (been waiting to give that line for months now)

It all really depends. if the BS was stock, then i highly doubt it.

I know a thing or two about engines and for flames to come out of the exhaust you need to dump extra gas in the exhaust (running Rich) which catches fire. (there are other way for flames, but this is most plausible.)

if the car was stock then i doubt the BS ECU is tuned incorrectly for this to happen.

If it did happen. In my opinion this BS owner would have had to had some things done to his car. At the minimum a new exhaust system with freeflow cats and a really freeflow muffler and a ECU tune to evoke the engine to run richer than normal for this to happen.

So, can it happen. Yes
Did it happen, doubt it.

flames
We just finished headers and cats and tune at the shop where I work. During testing for a wind noise I was behind the car while someone else test drove. Not once did I see flames on decel. But that was only my experience.

I can make it happen with my S65 any time I want. A hard run at high revs and then let off. It makes little burbling sounds punctuated with pops with blue flame visible at night. But that's probably a function of the turbo set up.

Not specifically. Fromn what I know, the pops and flames are from unburnt fuel that is shot in the ignition chamber at WOT and when you let off all of a sudden there is still a squirt of unburnt gas flowing through the whole system and then catches fire in the hot exhaust. I don't think this particulary has to do with turbo's or not.
