Sound

The only thing I want modified on my car, so far, is the sound. It just isn't that great. I basically want to be able to get it louder and make it look like nothing was changed. I live in a small town with only one car audio place and they said they won't touch my car. Any suggestions?

Turn the audio off and listen to that wonderful engine and exhaust note.

Seriously, the steroes in most cars like this sound like crap!! My Lambos and Ferraris all sounded terrible, but that was OK as I never turned them on so as to not drown out the engine notes. Much of the sound deadening material has been left out of the BS to reduce weight, so there is a lot of ambient noise coming in which hurts a good sound system.

Personally I think it sounds great stock...could use a bit more but not much. Remove the small resonators mounted midship and that'll do the trick and keep it looking like nothing was changed.

Thanks.
On a seperate sound topic(which I'm sure is cover somewhere else).
Which has a better exhaust note? A CLS55 or a CLK63 Black?
I used to own a CLS55(pictured as my avatar)and I swear the exhaust sounded a little bit better.
Is my memory failing me?

chiphomme,
I think the Clk 63 is better especially at start up. My CLS55 was good but not quite as good as the SL 55. I was at an AMG event and we lined up the SL and CLS 55 for full throttle runs and from outside the car everyone was in agreement that the SL was slightly better. Now if I could just get the AMG headers.

Currently the Black Series sounds the best of the 63's to me and the G55 the best of the 55's.
