Sl65 Black Ring time
There's no doubt that the new SL65 Black has run many laps on the Nurburgring.
What's the best guess on it's lap time. I don't think it will eclipse the ZR1 but will it do better than the 7:45 by the CLk63 BS. My guess is will be in 7:40's.

Mfr NBR times tend to be hopelessly optimistic....
Believe AMG's R&D hd was quoted as saying 65 Blk will do NBR in <7:46....and recent WindingRd quotes AMG as claiming both CLK Blk and SL63 030 are <8:00....
However, believe most German car nuts use SportAuto NBR times as most credible, though imperfect, benchmark....IIRC, CLK Blk was ?8:02; CY02 SL55 @8:06....599 @7:47...Scud@?7:39....997GT2@?7:33....
And, as I'm sure you guys know, many cars w/great NBR times are underwhelming on public rds vs bumpy/wet stretches and oncoming, errant traffic; and Scud/GT2 tires prob shave 5-10secs off their NBR times, but aren't safely useable in CA winter rain driving....would argue "risk-adjusted" NBR times would yield results that heavily favor many AMGs over F/P....
