Hello from the U.K
I picked up my car yesterday and wondered if there are any other clk black series owners who post on here and live in the cold, damp United Kingdom ?
Thanks to reading the posts on here I have learnt a fair bit before buying the car - cheers for the info !!
So far very pleased with this awesome car.

I usually go once a year to visit my parents, maybe one day we can meet and I'll show you what Germany is all about. I'm sure you would love it.

jrcart - I bought the same colour as you; Iridium silver. Originally thought I would get a black car but fell in love with the silver when I saw it in the flesh !!
I went to the superbowl in Detroit in 2006 so I know what you mean about the driving in the Detroit area. I have driven a fair bit in the states and went through a stage of getting a ticket on nearly every journey. I don't know how you guys do it. I drove fom NYC to Pittsburgh ( and back ) and trying to keep to 65 mph when your the only car within a mile radius is almost impossible. Unfortunately the accent did not help with the law enforcement officer !!
I think in the U.k we are blessed with some great race circuits, it helps make up for the weather ( to a point ! )

Drove a 911 in the '90's to Italy and back. During the stretch through Germany I didn't drop below 140 mph for miles. Trouble is though when you get back 70 mph limit it becomes very hard to stay legal because you have become used to travelling at high speed.

There are some great roads coming from Italy through Austria into Germany. I suppose you took the Brenner Pass, which was a lot of fun, especially in a 911. Speaking of Porsche's, I put my order in for a January allocation on a 997 with the PDK. I might take European delivery and pick it up in Zuffenhausen. Great way to break the new car in.
I know exactly what you mean in regards when backing off from high speeds, especially when you've been on it for a long time. Your brain adjusted to the speed and when you have to go slower, it feels like you could open the door and walk faster.
At least you don't have the dreaded speed cameras there yet. Talk about revenue inducing. We have both fixed site and mobile cameras and they take no prisoners !! 34 in a 30 and bang, no talking your way out of it.
Everybody hates these things, except the government and some police forces.
