I agree with LZH, I keep my center display on the oil temp screen all the time. When you first start the engine the oil temp will blink and I wait until the display of the temp is no longer blinking (which is about 80+C) then I can fun with the car. The reason I have the oil temp on the center display on all the time is due to my bad driving habits. I like to keep my car running at really high RPM and when it reaches over 130C the car will switch to C mode.. So I just kept an eye on it all the time.

and hur I thunk teh bestest way to get the heats into the tires was to jus' kinda go bat**** out of teh gate, nn u know, get em rubbery thangs and fluids warm and all dat nonsense...lol.
After the engine temp is warm, doesnt take me too long to drive like an *** to get just enough heat into the corsas lol...been driving them in 20 degree NE weather too! Im a trooper lol.

That must be it because I always refrigerate my tires over night, never drive above 20mph and make sure I turn the steering wheel really slow. In all seriousness, short of doing burnouts in the parking lot, what is it you think everyone else is doing with their low mileage BS on the street that I haven't done in over 18,000 miles with mine to get the tires up to operating temp? Someone had suggested that the road surfaces in the south cause more tire wear than the asphalt in the north east. I don't know what the reason is but i'm not complaining.

Did your squeaking problem in the front sound like this?

It happens at the parking garage at work after I drive it about 9 miles. Probably not enough time to warm it up but also not completly cold either. Also seems to happen more when going up or down a grade change than a level surface.

Just great!
Does anyone want a tech at the dealer driving their car in a reverse figure 8 to prove it's not the steering gear?
Do you think this is a formula for disaster?
Thanks for the update vms.

No problem. For what it's worth I had the lead tech ride in the parking lot with me to demonstrate the problem. Luckily I didn't need to do reverse figure 8's, just backing up out of a parking space was enough.
