Rear Wing
I've found a few pix of the AMG Aero kit rear wing,,
Does anyone have any pix from the rear of the car or that show mounting points on the trunk lid ?
Also the consensus of opinion on the wing..
Thanks
Ed A.

CLK63 Black Series
If you would like to see some more images of the rear of a CLK63 Black Series with the AMG installed aero package, go to the Private Lounge and do a "Search". Ed Strickland has a nice post on that site.

It appears that it is mounted on or very close to the basic CF rear spoiler...
I was curious about how they mounted without it looking like an "add on" !

CLK AMG BLACK SERIES (among other German things)

FWIW, the AMG aero kit was designed to improve downforce with minimal drag. The high speeds of the autobahn make it more functional and use full in europe than the speeds in the US and one of the reasons it's not available here. My recollection was that the factory rear wing was adjustable which in my mind makes it a functional piece. No one really complained about the DTM rear wing which is cheesier than the aero on the BS.
I have the Vorsteiner front piece which is a replica of the factory piece and it does help take some of the understeer out on the high speed sweepers I run on track days.
My general rule for street cars is that mechanical grip is good to 90 mph then you need to consider aero to balance the out the car for high speed cornering.
The factory wing although it might not be aesthetically pleasing it does it's job.
The BS needs more rear grip at high cornering speeds and a rear wing can help. If you don't drive that fast you don't need it.

Well, even if someone admitted driving that fast not on a track what can anyone do? Even if a cop/fed or whatever is reading these threads what can they do? Post a ticket? Issue an internet warrant? I hit triple digits late at night on empty streets all the time, what?
